Favorite Chicago Sounds is a collaborative web archive designed to showcase unique audio portraits of Chicago and mirror what Chicagoans think about their city’s soundscape. It is the Chicago manifestation of an international series of Favorite Sounds projects, started by British sound artist Peter Cusack. Chicago artist Jesse Seay collaborated with Cusack in 2006 to establish Favorite Chicago Sounds. Since then, FCS has developed partnership programs with numerous Chicago institutions, including Chicago Public Media, Experimental Sound Studio, and the Chicago Children’s Museum.
